The Mexican state-led oil company will team up with Global Water Development Partners, backed by US private equity giant Blackstone.
The project, developed with Pemex's new unit for new business and alliances, is intended to help with produced-water management in both onshore and offshore fields.
The tie-up will "allow Pemex to focus on its main business of exploration and production,as it complies with environmental obligations," according to Jose Manuel Carrera, who heads up the business unit.
