TGS has started preliminary fieldwork on its first onshore seismic survey in the prolific Permian basin of the US.
The so-called West Kermit shoot will acquire 3D seismic data across a 388 square-kilometre area in Loving and Winkler counties, Texas in the Delaware sub-basin of the prospective shale play.
The survey is intended to “assist in the evaluation and development of multiple-zone potential, including the highly productive Wolfcamp and Bone Spring intervals”, Oslo-listed TGS said in a statement.
