The Canadian player said it entered a definitive agreement with an unnamed buyer to dispose of all of its shallow gas properties in east-central and north-east Alberta.
The sale excludes Perpetual's heavy-oil and natural gas leases in the Mannville and Panny areas and its bitumen leases in the north-east.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. A Perpetual spokeswoman said the sales price was "a nominal amount" and said the buyer was a privately held company.
