The company announced late on Thursday it had tested, under natural flow conditions, light oil of 40 degrees API and gas from a 1.52-metre interval in the Mirador formation.
The exploration well flowed oil at an average rate of 818 barrels per day and gas at 3.4 million cubic feet per day over a 22-hour period.
Petroamerica said during testing, the peak oil rate reached more than 1200 bpd and by the end of the test, the stabilised rate was 964 bpd.
