The companies aim to "enhance their partnership, considering potential joint ventures in exploration, production and infrastructure of oil and gas in areas of common interest worldwide," the Brazilian state oil giant said in a financial statement.
"This agreement extends also to programmes for technical education and research with focus on carbonate reservoirs in deep-water."
Galp has been one of Petrobras' core partners in flagship fields such as Lula in Brazil's Santos basin.
