The probe, located in the south-western part of the Est Cobalcescu concession (Block EX-28), was drilled by the jack-up rig GSP Prometeu to a total depth of 3298 metres.
According to Dublin-based Petroceltic, it encountered good quality sandstone reservoirs at the target Miocence stratigraphic levels with gas shows while drilling.
However, commercial quantities were not present and as a result, the well will be plugged and abandoned.
