The oilfield services giant has been handed the award by Gazprom Neft Badra in a move first reported earlier this week.
Petrofac will work on the first phase of the Badra oilfield development project, providing engineering, procurement and construction services.
The work will begin shortly and be completed in three 18-month phases, ending in the second half of 2015, Petrofac said on Friday.
