The deal, awarded by Malaysia’s state-owned Petronas, involves the acquisition and processing of a marine seismic survey programme offshore Sabah and Sarawak.
The shoot started last month and is expected to take five months to complete.
CGG said on Thursday it was deploying two vessels, Viking Vision and Geowave Voyager, to ensure the programme is finished before the onset of the monsoon season.
