The state-owned oil player said on Tuesday that it is expecting “redundancies of under 1000 positions” as it seeks to trim costs.
“Exhaustive efforts are on-going to re-deploy affected employees. Petronas will further embark on a separation exercise for these employees as needed, which is expected to be completed over the next six months,” the company said.
Petronas did not specify if the positions to be cut were those of permanent or contract employees.
