The contract is worth 5.5 trillion dong ($249.1 million) and the overall 11 trillion dong project includes the gas processing plant, storage, export port and 37 kilometres of pipeline.
The project is expected to be completed within 18 months and will be fed by the Talisman-operated PM-3 CAA project which lies between Malaysia and Vietnam.
The plant is expected to produce about 207,500 tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas and 11,900 tonnes of condensate a year.
