The 1.2 million-tonnes-per-annum (mtpa) project, known as PFLNG1, is 95% complete and will be placed in service sometime next year,according to a release. It is being built at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea.
A second, 1.5 mtpa floating unit is being built nearby at Samsung Heavy Industries' yard.
Once completed, PFLNG1 will be moored on the Kanowit gas field 180 kilometres off Sarawak, East Malaysia.
