Steve Phimister is taking over as vice president of Shell's UK & Ireland upstream business unit from Paul Goodfellow, who is being promoted.

Phimister joined Shell in 1992 and has recently been leading the UK integration of the former assets of BG Group into the Anglo-Dutch supermajor’s portfolio.

He will take over on 1 March, a spokesman said.

Goodfellow, who moved to his current role in March 2015, will on 1 April become Shell’s executive vice president, wells, based in Rijswijk, Netherlands.

Earlier this month, private player Chrysaor announced an agreement to buy a major package of North Sea assets from Shell in a deal worth up to $3.8 billion that turned it overnight into one of the UK North Sea’s leading players.
