Industry sources said the Anglo-Dutch supermajor has chosen a Sevan 400 design cylindrical unit as its favoured development solution for Penguins and “is adamant” it wants the floating production, storage and offloading vessel to be built in China.
Penguins offers a rare opportunity for work-starved contractors to secure backlog during the prevailing oil price slump and is one of the very few developments moving ahead in UK waters.
