The US should strongly consider placing a price on carbon emissions in order to make gas prices more competitive with oil, Total chief executive Patrick Pouyanne said.
In comments made Wednesday at the CeraWeek conference in Houston, Pouyanne made the case for putting a price on carbon like some European countries.
"The right way to balance oil and gas is to have a carbon price.
