The Hatim X-1 well was drilled to a total depth of 3800 metres and potential hydrocarbon bearing zones were identified from logs in the Lower Goru formation.
PPL revealed that initial testing of Massive sand in the Lower Goru resulted in the well flowing an average of 56 million cubic feet of gas per day on a 0.75-inch choke.
The company is now flowing the well at different choke sizes to measure gas flow rates, with the actual flow potential of the well to be determined once testing wraps up.
