The LS30-3-1 well was drilled about 20 kilometres north of the LS36-1 gas field platform, targeting a large channel sand prospect.
Primeline revealed Tuesday the well had been completed to a total depth of 2000 metres without discovering hydrocarbons and will be plugged and abandoned.
It said electric logs showed the well had hit three sets of “very good” sandstone reservoir sequences as predicted, but had failed to uncover any oil or gas accumulations.
