The Sea Lion-1 exploration well was drilled to a total depth of 1672 metres in VIC/P57 using the jack-up West Telesto.
Well partner 3D Oil revealed the well had encountered indications of hydrocarbons in the target zones, adding the zones would be further assessed to determine whether there were any accumulations of commercial significance in the well.
As of Monday, Hibiscus was pulling out of the hole ahead of running a wireline formation evaluation programme which, along with analysis, is expected to take several days to complete.
