The properties to be acquired span 9400 acres in Martin County and lie about 10 miles east of existing QEP operations.
A seller was not disclosed.
The acreage holds potential for more than 430 horizontal drilling locations over four horizons: Wolfcamp A, Wolfcamp B, Middle Spraberry and Spraberry. It has additional potential in deeper and shallower horizons, QEP added.
The properties currently produce about 1400 net barrels of oil equivalent per day, about 83% of which is crude, from 96 vertical wells.
