Joint venture partner WestSide said Ensign’s 959 drilling rig spudded the Thisit-01 probe on Tuesday and is now drilling ahead toward a total depth of about 1500 metres. Drilling and testing is expected to take about 14 days, after which it will be plugged and abandoned.
The well is located 30 kilometres north of the existing Paranui pilot well in the southern part of Block ATP 769P, which lies along strike from the WestSide-operated Meridian SeamGas CBM fields.
