Well partner Buru Energy said Thursday the well had reached a depth of 1447 metres but had failed to hit any significant hydrocarbons. As a result, the well will be plugged and abandoned.
The decision was not unexpected, with Buru already announcing the well had failed to find significant hydrocarbons in the primary Willara formation objectives and last week said no pay had been uncovered in the upper section of the secondary objective Nambeet formation.
