Joint venture partner Carnarvon Petroleum revealed Monday that 91 metres of core had been cut from the Outtrim East-1 well in WA-155-P(1).
Carnarvon claimed early interpretation of fluorescence data indicated the well had discovered the presence of hydrocarbons in the target interval.
However, it added months of laboratory work would still be needed before the joint venture could compile a report on the results of the well.
