Well partner Carnarvon Petroleum said today that drilling in Block WA-155-P(1) begun over the weekend. The Outtrim East-1 well is expected to take about 25 days to reach a depth of about 1440 metres.
The well is being drilled by the jack-up Noble Tom Prosser to explore for additional hydrocarbon-bearing sands to the north and east of the hydrocarbon reservoir seen at the Outtrim-1 oil discovery, which lies about one kilometre away and hit oil in the Pyrenees member.
