GDI’s liftboat Rumailah is now in for repairs at the local Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine (N-KOM) yard, estimated to take several months, after keeling over when one of its legs collapsed while carrying out support work at the Maersk-operated Al Shaheen field earlier this week.
However, both players have so far failed to provide more information despite repeated attempts by Upstream to gain an update on the status of repairs required to the unit, as well as the impact on field operations, as questions remain over the cause of the incident.
