Range confirmed on Tuesday that two wells were being used to inject water, at an average initial rate of about 600 barrels per day. However, first production as a result of waterflooding is not expected until the first quarter of 2017.
Range’s eight-year waterflood programme is expected to recover an additional 4.8 million barrels of oil from the Beach Marcelle field at an average rate of about 1600 bpd, with production estimated over the plateau period of three years of 2000 bpd.
