Houston-based Ranger bought out privately held Bayou, which has operations in the Rocky Mountain region and the Williston basin, for an undisclosed sum.

Ranger is backed by private equity player CSL Capital Management, who snapped up Magna Energy Services for an undisclosed sum and will combine it with the new Ranger organization.

The expanded company will feature a fleet of 70 workover rigs as well as additional plug-and-abandonment and fluid management services in Texas, Colorado, North Dakota, and Wyoming, CSL Capital said when announcing the move.
