The spill occurred a week ago after a vessel owned by Great Lakes Dredge & Dock struck the Harvest-operated pipeline as it was conducting excavation operations.
The spill has impacted wildlife, with around 200 birds reported oiled in the Cheniere Ronquille Barrier Island and East Grand Terre Island areas, the US Coast Guard said. Crews were working to rescue the wildlife and have so far captured 11 birds and one Kemp's Ridley sea turtle.
