"Oil and gas companies have been slow compared to other sectors in adopting LGBT inclusive policies and benefits," said Deena Fidas, director of the foundation's workplace equality programme.
This year, a record 407 companies scored a 100% rating on the index, which rates companies based on factors such as non-discrimination policies, employment benefits and public commitment to LGBT equality.
However, only two of those companies -- Shell and Chevron -- were in the oil and gas industry.
