Block partner Pan Pacific Petroleum revealed the joint venture had been approved to retain a 2108 square kilometre area for an additional five years, until 1 September 2020.
Pan Pacific said earlier this year the joint venture was considering applying to retain a portion of the PSC that had been assessed as having remaining exploration potential, primarily for gas.
Block 07/03 lies in the Nam Con Son basin and also contains the Ca Rong Do (Red Emperor) discovery.
