Spanish major Repsol has awarded a one-well contract off Aruba to London-based contractor Seadrill.

The work will be carried out by the drillship West Capella after the unit's current contract with Repsol in Gabon finishes up in June, according to a release. Backlog is expected to be about $6.4 million.

The rig was built in 2008 and designed by Samsung. It is capable of drilling to 10,000 feet.

A Repsol representative told Upstream the West Capella began drilling the Ivela-1 well off Gabon at the end of January.
