Wireline logs on the well, which was drilled to a total depth of 1924 metres, showed the well was dry in both the target Namur sandstone with and in secondary objectives in the Birkhead, Hutton, and Poolwanna formations.
Beach had aimed to drill the well in 2011, but was forced to abandon those plans due to inclement weather.
The well was currently being plugged and abandoned as a dry hole, with the rig next to move to the drill site of the Christies-6 development well in the same permit area.
