Several rounds of mortar fire were launched against the facility in the Krechba area early on Friday morning, but no damage was caused and no injuries reported.
Eye witnesses said that three or four rockets were fired that landed near the facility in the middle of the desert, with some saying it was a "near catastrophe" given the explosion risk if the plant had been hit.
