Under the deal, the Japanese player will provide Rosneft with the offshore drilling system HAKURYU-5 to drill two oil wells next year in Vietnam’s Blocks 06-1 and 05-3/11.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
"Despite a difficult macroeconomic situation, we are expanding our hydrocarbons upstream business, signing contracts not only in Russia but also in Asia-Pacific region," Rosneft chairman Igor Sechin said.
