Vice president Andrei Shishkin has been named president of oil producer Bashneft and chairman of its management board, beginning on Thursday.

The appointment comes one day after Rosneft closed its 329.69 billion rouble ($5.23 billion) deal to take a 50.0755% stake in Bashneft from the government. The Moscow administration also owns 70% of Rosneft.

Shishkin was general director of Urals Energy Management and Tyumen Power Sales from 2005 to 2010.
