Well-143 was drilled to a total depth of 2750 metres towards the north of the South Yelemes field and made a discovery in the MJ-F structure.
Roxi said that despite a number of failed well tests it was eventually able to flow oil from intervals at 1935 and 2692 metres.
The company believes there are three main intervals of interest in Well-143 at 2193, 2216 and 2692 metres, with a potential fourth interval of interest at 2088 metres identified from core samples.
