Ulyukayev added that the investment consultant for Bashneft had recommended selling the stake in one lot.
The news of the sale is surprising, since the government signalled in August that it would delay selling its stake in Bashneft and prioritise the sale of part of its interest in oil giant Rosneft.
The move was supported by Rustem Khamitov, president of the oil-producing internal Russian Republic of Bashkortostan,which holds 25% pf the company.
