The 6507/7-15 wildcat drilled by Seadrill semi-submersible West Alpha in RWE-operated Production Licence 435 struck estimated recoverable gas volumes of between 4 billion and 13 billion cubic metres at the Zidane 2 prospect, according to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).
The well encountered a 140-metre gas column in the main Middle Jurassic target, as well as two smaller gas deposits in secondary objectives in Cretaceous and Jurassic reservoirs.
