The Oklahoma City-based company had earlier forecast full-year capital expenditure of $285 million for 2016, but has now cut this back to between $225 million and $255 million.
The target will mean a slight rise in spending in the second half of the year as against the first, after $110 million was spent in the six months to the end of June - $56 million of which was spent in the second quarter.
