Stockholm-headquartered Sandvik, a developer and producer of advanced stainless steels, special alloys and titanium is the latest industry contractor to establish its Asia Pacific hub in Malaysia.

Located in Kuala Lumpur, the new regional HQ incorporates a novel service centre for control lines that provides end-to-end control lines solutions, which the company said makes it the first complete service provider in the region. T

The KL service centre is Sandvik’s third globally and will complement its existing centres in Houston and Rio de Janeiro.

“Sandvik has been active in Asia for over 50 years and Malaysia has always been one of our focus markets in the region due to its strategic location,” said Benno Wagner, Sandvik’s regional sales and marketing managing, oil & gas, Asia Pacific.

“With the recent recovery in oil prices, we foresee abundant potential for companies to grow in this market. The opening of our regional headquarters in Malaysia is a timely move for us to further expand our oil and gas portfolio in the region.”

The move to KL was officially announced during OTC Asia 2018 in the Malaysian capital.

“Our new headquarters will enable us to better provide local support to customers and increase our delivery of products and services to companies operating around Malaysia,” added Wagner.
