Australian independent Santos has hit gas with a standalone appraisal well at the Big Lake field in PPL 11 in South Australia’s onshore Cooper basin.
Field partner Beach Energy revealed on Wednesday the Big Lake‐134 well had hit 143 metres of net gas pay across a 681-metre gross Permian section.
Beach said the result was in line with pre-drill estimates and confirmed the down‐flank extension of gas reservoirs at the field.
