Joint venture partner Beach Energy revealed in its monthly drilling report the Calamia East-1 near field exploration well in South Australia had hit 1.7 metres of net oil pay in the McKinlay Member and 5.5 metres of net oil pay in the Birkhead/Hutton formations.
Calamia East-1 was drilled up-dip of the Calamia West-1 well in the greater Limestone Creek area as part of a three-well campaign to appraise additional oil reserves in the McKinlay Member and other secondary targets.
