The company posted a profit of just A$37 million (US$27 million) for the six months to 30 June, an 82% fall from the A$206 million profit it booked during the first half of 2014.
Hitting results this year was A$194 million in exploration and evaluation expenses, up from A$102 million a year ago, with the company's drilling campaign in Papua New Guinea and Malaysia only resulting in one commercial find – the Bestari-1 oil discovery off Malaysia.
