The Australian company revealed Friday the Seri Bakti LNG vessel had been loaded and its cargo was expected to arrive in South Korea “in the coming weeks”.
The shipment comes just weeks after Santos announced the US$18.5 billion project had started up on schedule and within budget.
“Successfully delivering our first operated LNG project is a testament to our dedicated employees and contractors, the support we have received from governments, local communities, our customers and shareholders, as well as the strong relationships we enjoy with our joint venture partners,” Santos chief David Knox said on Friday.
“The first cargo from GLNG strengthens our position as a major and competitive LNG supplier to Asia.
