The kingdom told Opec it had pumped 10.56 million barrels per day in June, about 231,000 bpd more than in May.
Secondary sources provided lower numbers, however. According to those sources, Saudi Arabia produced about 10.2 million bpd last month, a 48,400-barrel increase over May.
The output boost highlighted Saudi Arabia's determination to defend market share against higher-cost producers, such as US shale drillers, and other competing supply sources, according to Reuters.
Poorer
