The probe, drilled by Seadrill-owned jack-up West Prospero in Lundin-operated Block PM308A, was targeting hydrocarbons in Miocene-aged sands at the prospect, located about 14 kilometres south of its operated Bertam field.
However, “the well was dry and has been plugged and abandoned”, Lundin said in a statement.
Lundin holds a 75% operated interest in the block, with Malaysian state-run oil company Petronas holding the remaining 25% equity.
