Marco Polo terminated the US$214.3 million construction contract with SembMarine subsidiary PPL Shipyard earlier this month after claiming cracks were found on all three legs of the new rig during two rounds of tests.
SembMarine said Wednesday that the contractual delivery for the the Pacific Class 400 design rig was 30 November and that when Maro Polo terminated the contract on 17 November it was substantially ready to be completed for delivery.
