The vessel, to be named Q7000, will be based on a design jointly developed by Helix and SembMarine’s research and development subsidiary Sembcorp Marine Technology and is scheduled for delivery in mid-2016.

The rig will be capable of performing a wide variety of tasks including conventional and extended top hole drilling, subsea construction, decommissioning, well intervention, coiled tubing operations and twin remotely-operated vehicle deployment.
