Proved and probable oil reserves in the Martlet fields have been estimated at 589,000 barrels of oil and have been booked as the first Namur sandstone oil reserves in PEL 104/111.
Joint venture partner Beach Energy announced a decision was being made to identify more appraisal wells in the area.
Earlier this year, the Martlet-1 well intersected six metres of oil pay in the Namur sandstone, and was consequently cased and suspended as a future oil producer.
