Sex scandal sparks MMS shake-up call

US lawmakers unveiled legislation today that would suspend a federal royalty-in-kind programme that collects and sells oil and gas from energy companies drilling on federal lands until the Interior Department carries out an extensive review of its operations, in the wake of a sex and drugs scandal at the department's Minerals Management Service (MMS).
