Members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) are being blamed for the early Tuesday assault on the pipeline in Turkey’s Posof province near to the border with Georgia, Reuter reported.

The pipeline where the blast took place carries gas from Shah Deniz from Georgia into Turkey.

"With last night's attack, the separatist terror organisation (PKK) has once again shown that they aim to prevent our people from accessing their most basic needs," the news wire quoted Energy Minister Taner Yildiz as saying in a statement.
