The National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) gave Italy’s Eni the go-ahead to carry out a $245 million four-well delineation programme for the Contractual Area 1 development block it won in the Round 1.2 phase of the country’s bid round last year.

The consortium of US independent Talos Energy, Mexico’s Sierra Oil & Gas and the UK’s Premier Oil also won approval on a pair of exploration plans on contractual areas 2 and 7, the only two blocks awarded in the Round 1.1
